High Tensile Steel Plate Manufacturers

Champak Industries maintains a vast inventory of High Tensile (HT) Steel Plates in various sizes, grades, and specifications. We supply High Tensile Plates of Domestic and Imported Make manufactured by the finest mills around the globe.

High Tensile Steel Plate
High Tensile Steel is steel at the lower end of the medium-carbon ranges which have additionals alloying ingredients in order to increase their power, wear properties, and tensile strength. They are hot rolled at utmost temperatures which make them hard enough to bear high temperature and pressure without acquire rusty or damaged.

Number of Tests

Tensile test and impact test (3 samples), every 40 t, or per heat treatment unit respectively.

Processing

Cold-Forming

The steel is suitable for cold-forming adhering to a bending or folding radius of > 4 times plate thickness longitudinal and > 3 times transverse to rolling direction. A subsequent stress relief annealing is possible up to a temperature of 580°C.

Hot-Forming

Hot-forming above 580°C is possible. A subsequent quenching and tempering has to be carried out according to the conditions of delivery.

Milling

Drilling with cobalt-alloyed high-speed steels HSSCO. Cutting speed should be approximately 17 - 19 m/min.

If HSS drills are used, cutting speed should be approximately 3 – 5 m/min.

Flame-Cutting

Material with temperatures under 5°C and thicknesses ≤ 40mm should be preheated to RT. Plate thicknesses > 40mm should be preheated to 100°C, 80mm and over should be preheated to 150°C.

Welding

The steel is suitable for all current welding methods. In principle, preheating is not necessary for thicknesses up to 30mm.

The following preheating temperatures are recommended:

20mm – 40mm: 75°C

Over 40mm: 100°C

60mm and over: 150°C

Material with temperatures under 5°C should be preheated to RT for plate thicknesses < 20mm. Interpass temperature should be between 150°C and 225°C. These indications are standard values only, in principle,

in accordance of SEW 088 should be adhered to.

Depending on the welding method, the t 8/5 times should be between 5 - 25 s. If stress relief annealing should be necessary for constructional reasons, it should be in the temperature range of 530°C - 580°C.
